Animation Production rise of a new horizon in the Indian media industry. In 2016, Indian Animation & VFX Industry grew by 23% to reach INR 6,660 Crore in 2017. It is expected to grow to INR 11,360 Crore by 2020.
Animation industry future projectionsAnimation involves creativity and technology; it has seen three growth cycles in India. Initially, low-end volume work was what was largely coming to India. Subsequently, many companies came into play, thereby creating employment opportunities and demand for manpower in this space resulting in advent of the animation education and churning out of students.
The key growth areas are:
1) Animation Films
2) Increase use of animations in TV advertisements
3) Animation TV, Episodic TV series
Animation in Films:
This semester focuses on developing creativity and drawing skills for Animation through study of design, anatomy, light & shade, and perspectives. It concentrates on various concepts, techniques and design for animation. The focus is on development of ideas into concepts, scriptwriting for animation, character designing, concept art, acting and voice characterization, visual scripting using film grammar, drawing storyboards to creating Animatics. At the end of the semester, the students have to prepare a project which includes Pre-Production of an original concept of 30-60 second duration.
ObjectiveAt the end of this semester, the student will be able to, discuss the concepts of design and animation fundamentals. They will be able to define and discuss the design for animation and the pre-production process. The student will also be able to convert their original ideas into concepts and prepare pre-production work of the concept.
Duration: 336 Hours (if classes are held 3 Days/Week)

- Fast Track: 1140 Hours or 24 Months (@ 6X2 Hours Classes/Week)
