The Advanced Digital Graphics & Animation (Maya) programme — AVGC Maya — is a 12-month part-time Maya 3D animation course in Kolkata, taught at Arena Animation Park Street. It trains students in 3D modelling, texturing, rigging, lighting and character animation using Autodesk Maya as the primary tool, supported by Adobe Photoshop, Premiere Pro, Audition and After Effects across the design and post-production stages of the pipeline.
Across two semesters, the curriculum moves from foundations in creative design, cinematography, colour theory and motion graphics into a full 3D production workflow — the same pipeline Maya powers at studios like Disney, Pixar and major game houses. Students build a term-end portfolio and exit with the technical foundation to enter 3D animation, rigging or lighting roles across film, OTT, gaming and advertising studios in Kolkata and beyond.
Students work on practical projects throughout the program, learning how to create production-ready assets, animated sequences, realistic environments, and polished renders while building a strong professional portfolio for studio and freelance opportunities.
