What Makes Us Different
Students exploring arena animation kolkata usually compare three things before deciding where to train.
Faculty experience, Training quality, Placement outcomes
Most arrive here after asking those exact questions.
01
You cannot learn Maya in a crowded classroom.
Many institutes place twenty students in a lab and call it training. The back row receives little feedback. Quiet students often receive even less attention.
Arena Animation Park Street chose a different approach.
Every batch is limited to 8 students.
Because advanced lighting, compositing and character rigging require focused guidance and real interaction.
02
The faculty here understands studio expectations because they have worked inside those environments.
Credits include studios such as Xentrix Studios, Prana Studios, Green Gold Animation and DQ Entertainment International.
That experience shapes how students are trained and how portfolios are built.
03

Infrastructure
Students who train on outdated machines often enter the industry already behind.
That gap does not appear in a brochure. It appears on the first day of a studio job.
Arena Animation Park Street was designed to mirror a real production environment.
One machine. One student. Every session. No sharing. No waiting. No workarounds.
Not cracked. Not limited. The same tools studios run — because training on anything else builds habits that don’t transfer.
Air-conditioned, spacious, and built for serious work. Not approximating a professional environment — replicating one.

What the Industry Says
Most institutes teach software. Arena teaches craft. Every time I visit, I see it — in how students think, how they problem-solve, how they carry themselves. That doesn’t come from a curriculum. That comes from real mentorship.
We’ve hired from a lot of places. Arena Park Street graduates are consistently production-ready from day one. That’s not common. We keep coming back because the quality doesn’t drop.
It’s rare to find an institute that’s genuinely kept pace with the industry. Arena has done that. The work their students produce is focused, disciplined, and aligned with what studios actually expect.
The People Behind It
Every person teaching at Arena Animation Park Street has held a real position in the industry.
That is not a policy.
It is the reason the placement record looks the way it does.
Recognition
Arena Animation Park Street was founded in 1998 by Ramesh Ruia — a St. Xavier’s College, Kolkata graduate with an MBA in Computer Science from Temple University, Philadelphia.
At a time when animation training in Kolkata was virtually non-existent, he saw what the industry was going to become — and built something to meet it. That decision, made 28 years ago, still shapes everything about how this institute operates today. He is a member of the Bengal AVGC Association and ASIFA India.
